  • Identify lucas distributor

    Hello.

I have a lucas districutor, service number 41403 as the mk2 cooper S but 43D4.

The database I found refers that the 41403 is 23d4!

Can you please help me to find from what car is this?

    Thanks!

That tell us that those cars use the 45D4... but what version of 45D4? Mine is the 41403.

              Check this: http://www.starchak.ca/tech/pdfs/lucas.pdf

              First column - service number
              Second - distributor model

Same model = different service number = different car

              Do you understand my doubt?

the 45d4 was used on the later cars mk2 mini and mark 3 not cooper

the service number refers to the spec of the distributor... advance curve, weights and vacum advance

your distributor was not fitted to minis most probaly allegro, 1800, princess all ran that spec distributor

your listing suggest very very late mk2 and mk3 1275 cooper S but with a 23d4 .. think the listing is wrong.

Look for a date stamp. Mine has 668 on it which I believe means week 6 1968.

That's not a 23D. So probably a later B90 unit on a later case, date number? Btw, the clamp in on upside down.
