Hi Gary,
sounds like you have a "pre April 74" car, if it has a brake servo, does it also have 10" wheels? I wouldnt touch the pots, unless the box leaks oil, from the pot seals? if you want the axles out? just cut the alloy clip, that holds the rubber to the pot, and you can pull the axle out, if you need to replace the gearbox seal? you still need to do it like this, as you cant get the pot through the subframe. The pots can be a real ba----- to get out, as they are hold in place by a inner clip, that expands outwards, so it locks the pot to the gearbox axle, there is a special BL tool for this, but you can get around this, you can also buy this tool, from where you get Mini spares. As for my engine bay dont ask- just look it was sprayed all over, with this thick sound deadning, it took forever to get off, we used heat, and a scraper to remove it with, here is a picture from when we had done most of the engine bay. Any news on your WP? I have found 2 more WP,s both in USA one is a very original WP, with all the toyz and VERY Blue - infact all is Blue (inside/outside/vinylroof/sunroof/etc the car is never restored.Jens Christian |
