Default WNX History

Ownership history now clear

1. Will Sparrow
2. Peter Archer ( BL Dealer in Shirley , Solihull )
3. Bill Wood ( Telford )
4. Phil Toovey ( Willenhall )
5. John Innes Scotland
6 Myself

I've spoken with everyone except owners 2 and 3, anyone know of them or what they used the car for ?. The car did not go to Ireland as far as i can tell. I have photos of it in the UK in 74 and an event in 77 , I believe it was EUE697K that ended up in Ireland which was owned by John Bridges and maintained by Steve Griffin , both of whom I have spoken to.

Attached article from CCC mentions Wills first outing with the 8 port head .

Anyone have any photos of WNX after its roll on the 1970 Tour of Mull?

Regards

David

Archers of Shirley became Evans Halshaw and the Archer's stayed with them.
seem to remember it was a bit of a reverse takeover. Seem to also remember he raced jaguars particularly an XK

A search for Archers of Shirley came up with this link. Graham appears to have worked for Archers, some might be able to help you. It also mentions the Jaguar dealership so most likely had a racing XK.

It would have helped if I'd added the link!

This site contains a reference to a Bill Wood:
http://www.robpendleton.co.uk/Motorsport.htm , after rolling an Escort RS1600 in 1970. Certainly a Bill Wood who was active in rallies in the 60's and 70's, and Stafford is about 20 or so miles from Telford (which didn't exist in1970 as we know it today). There is an email link at the bottom of the page for Rob Pendleton.
A long shot, but you never know,
Pete

Very clear now that WNX never went to Ireland except for 71 Circuit of Ireland. The car that went to Ireland was EUE697K .
