You have a vac line goes from the ECU to the inlet manifold via a fuel trap. Then there is another goes from the manifold to the themac switch on the bottom of the air cleaner, the other side of the thermac switch goes to the cold air valve on the air cleaner intake duct. If you follow the vac pipe on the ECU back to the manifold there should be another nipple on the back of the manifold adjacent to the one for the ECU feed.
Basically it just operates the flaps to draw in warm air when the engine is cold and switches to cold air when the engine warms up. Last edited by hawaiianblue; 06-02-10 at 10:43 PM. |

ahh that has answered my question ,itook the engine out today to do a gearbox rebuild ,and i was expecting to find a pipe with a bolt in it (what most people do) but i did notice on the bottom/back of the inlet manifold the pipe which goes to the ecu and next to it a blank/cap fitted to a pipe ,so i take it this is the pipe i need to go to the airbox
nice one cheers dan |

it will only be a very small outlet, takes the rubber ends they put on the vacume tubes.
