We are progressing very well with the car, I have a question.

Regarding fuel tanks the standard ones seem a bit unsafe in the fact that they spill fuel out the caps when cornering hard the alternatives are a bladder tank fited inside a fuel tank/box cost around £1600.00, fabricate an Aluminium one foam filled £500.00ish, obviously the Ali one is the way I would like to go and they are the tanks I use in all the other cars (none Mini) which I race here in the uk with no problems from scrutineers etc, But I have heard that in Belgium they will only accept the bladder tanks bearing in mind our goal is too compete in the spa 6 hr it is important to get the tank right.

Anyone here had any probs with this? or any advise on it.

Have Co-driven in a top FIA spec historic rally car using original twin tanks, can't remember exact type of filler cap, either aston/Monza, didn't seem to leak fuel. Have included photo of boot area showing fueling system, very tidy, I took the photo for ideas of my own.

Hope the jack and battery were better secured before you set off!

Just to be clear, by FIA you mean Appendix K? Last thing I was reading about the Spa 6 Hours was a diatribe from 2009 UK competitors that there was no effective eligibility scrutineering and half the field was bent. Safety scrutineering is of course another matter and I'm sure I've heard that Belgian historic rally regs (which are not Appendix K) only allow standard tank or a (within date) bag tank. (That doesn't aply to BHRC rounds in Belgium running to BHRC/MSA regs). Unfortunately, my link to those regs no longer connects and I don't recall whether it covered historic race regs there too. I'll ask someone who may have an up to date link.
Flip top fillers as mentioned in another post above are banned or frowned upon if outside the car?
Not sure what regs now say about vent pipes (with sealed filler) that run up to roof (as per Cooper Car Co in period etc).
Most common thing catching out UK competitors is that Appendix K requires 5mm thick plastic windows rather than 4mm.
