try these chap's ,they are battery specialists, tell them all your requirement's and they should sort you out......I got a very powerfull (cold cranking amps) gell battery delivered for £70 ( it will start a transit 2.5 diesel, and large forklift's)..and fits very snug in a standard battery box (very, very, snug) but is taller than some batteries

01772 731953 (preston lancs) ...the name I have got against the number is MANBAT but I dont think it's correct

70 quid seems a lot for a battery. I just bought an aftermarket job from my local motor factors (Sparesworld) some 4 years ago and it only cost around 15 quid.

So far I've had no problems.

Either way keep away from Halfords, because I've heard their batteries are very overpriced and not too good either.

the battery is the equivalent in size to a standard battery (but is optimised for industrial/marine use) ,but has massive cranking power (off the top of my head, just over 800 cold cranking amp's) ,its a gell battery(leak proof) and is extreamly high quality (four year's of trouble free service)it is far cheaper than an optimax, and has better performance, and a more classic look to it (not orange ,red, yellow or whatever),it was a real bargain at £70 and it did include the courier's next day delivery

£70 is pretty good for that battery.

Taffy, you're right though with Halfords battery prices. I sell an 063 (small but ok for Mini) for £48, theirs is £59.

Incidently, that 063 costs me £25 plus Vat, Halfords almost certainly pay less, but £15, honestly?
