Default Dice With Spice DVD and book

Hi All,

Please excuse such a blatant plug, but I thought you guys may be interested to know that www.minifilms.co.uk now stocks the new Gordon Spice Mini racing DVD and also his amazing autobiography. Gordon is interviewed in the next issue of Mini World and he's one of the world's true racing characters. Minifilms went to meet him the other day and is about to establish a dedicated Gordon Spice website to sell DVDs and books. In the meantime, we are the only place where you can buy his DVD, Dice With Spice, online via a secure payment option (Gordon himself can only take cheque or bankers draft).

Dice With Spice is his 1969 race at Crystal Palace, with Murray Walker on commentating duty. The footage is spectacular, with several other well known names in the pack behind Gordon, as he races his Britax Mini Cooper S. It's just £10 (only available in a card sleeve, for the time being). And you can find it here...

Cheers

Ian

PS. We'll be at this weekends Mini Show at Stafford if you'd rather see us there!

Just watched this dvd and can confirm the footage is "spectacular".
Was this recently found in the BBC archives and how much more brilliant footage of Mini's like this do they have hidden away gathering dust in the vaults?

Legendary Crystal Palace Mini Racer Gordon Spice has been confirmed as a guest at the Crystal Palace Sprint Event May 30/31 2010 when motorsport returns to the famous London circuit.
(Starting point of the annual London to Brighton Mini Run)

Minifilms have now added an interview to the brilliant DVD of Gordon Spice Mini racing at Crystal Palace:
NB. This is not the DVD currently seen in Mini World magazine but has been remastered by Minifilms with exclusive new interview footage with Gordon Spice.
"Own a slice of history. Very limited run DVD. It's 1969 and the Mini is at the height of its power. Watch racing legend Gordon Spice drive his Britax/Downton works Cooper S to victory around the Crystal Palace Circuit in a hugely competitive round of that year's British National Saloon Car Championship. Murray Walker is on fine form as commentator and there are several other famous names in among the other drivers. Superb archive footage and fantastically close race."

I actually ordered this on 12th February but am now waiting for the new improved version as explained to me by Minifilms today:

"Just as you placed the order we updated the website to say that we're are just about to revamp this DVD with Gordon Spice himself, to include exclusive interview footage with him and repackaging and remastering the period footage into a brand new product offered in a proper DVD case etc. It should be a much more exciting product, than the basic item we're currently offering. As such, I've held your order, since we have started taking advance orders for the revised Dice With Spice DVD and I assumed yours was one of these. We are actually filming the interview next week, and should have the new product by early in March"

I've not yet seen any of their products myself but have to say they have been very helpful with my order and if the product matches their responses to my queries then I expect to be impressed!

Funnily enough I thought it was neither spectacular or a close race but hey they can hardly advertise it as a 'procession' ! It is the only footage of the era ('69) available so certainly worth having. I have plugged this in the next MCR mag as being available directly from Gordon himself with an email address to contact him. Wonder which version he will be selling though, hopefully the revamped one.
